An unlikely rub combination that turned out to be absolute money! Our Blackening and Spellbound Hot rubs form a championship tag team of flavor that will take down any other burger that steps in it's way. This burger is insanely good and easy to make, and may even put you into a trance.
Ingredients
-
Blackening Rub
-
Spellbound Hot Rub
-
Garlic² Rub
-
2 lbs 80/20 Ground Beef
-
8 slices Muenster Cheese
-
4 Brioche Buns
-
2 small or 1 large Jalapeno, finely diced
-
½ cup of Duke’s Mayo
Directions
Mix Duke’s Mayo with the finely diced jalapeno and 1-2 tablespoons of the Garlic² rub to create the jalapeno aioli. Set aside.
Portion and form ½ pound beef patties.
Season both sides patties with a layer of Spellbound Hot topped with a layer of Blackening rub. Let patties sit for 10-20 minutes for seasoning to adhere fully. *This is an important step to prevent the rubs from falling off or sticking to the pan/grill.
Grill or sear in a cast iron pan over high heat for 3-5 minutes or until a dark crust has formed on each side. Finish burgers over indirect heat on a grill or in a 350 degree Fahrenheit oven until burger reaches 135 degrees internal temp in the center. Add cheese while patty is hot to melt the cheese.
Toast both sides of bun and apply a layer of jalapeno aioli to both sides of bun. Assemble with your preferred toppings, serve and enjoy!
Recipe Note
- Use your favorite cheese. Blue cheese would be a great option to go with the flavors of the Blackening rub.
- The key to getting a great crust on the patty is to leave it alone and flip as few times as possible during the searing process.
- You’ll want to make the patties about an inch wider than the bun you’re using to account for shrinkage while cooking.
