If you're craving a delicious and satisfying sandwich, look no further than the BBQ rib sandwich. With succulent slow-cooked pork ribs slathered in tangy BBQ sauce, this sandwich hits all the right notes. The tender meat falls off the bone and is piled high on a large roll, making for an easy-to-eat meal. Top it off with some crispy fresh onions and pickles for added crunch and zing. You'll feel like you've stepped into a barbecue pit with every flavorful bite. This one, unlike other "rib" sandwiches, is available all year long!
Ingredients
-
Spellbound Hot Rub
-
Kinda Sweet Sauce
-
St Louis or Baby Back ribs
-
1 large sandwich loaf, French or Italian
-
butter
-
brown sugar
-
pickles, sliced
-
white onion, sliced
Directions
Preheat grill or smoker to 275 degrees
Remove ribs from the package and flip over. Remove membrane from the backside of the ribs. Season front and back of ribs liberally with Lane's Spellbound Hot rub and let sit for 20-30 minutes for rub to adhere to ribs.
Smoke ribs for 2 hours.
Prepare a double layer of foil about 6-8” longer than the ribs, place 3-4 thin slices of butter, 2-3 tbls of brown sugar and 2 tbls of sauce down in the center of the foil. After ribs have smoked for 2 hours, place them meat side down on the sauce/butter/sugar and wrap tightly.
Place wrapped ribs meat side down and smoke for 1 ½ - 2 hours, or until all bones can be twisted and pulled out.
Slice and toast your bread, place boneless ribs on the bottom half, add some more sauce to the top, then pickles and onions. Place top bun on, slice and enjoy!
Recipe Note
- Use any rub/sauce combo you wish, Kapalua and Pineapple Chipotle make a great combo for this!
- Feel free to get creative with the toppings. Tomatoes, jalapenos, banana peppers, or even.... Bacon!
