If you're in the mood for a spicy and satisfying burger, the White Hot Chile Burger is the one for you. This burger packs a flavorful punch with its 100% beef patty mixed with diced chiles, topped with candied jalapenos, and habanero cheese. The bun is toasted to perfection and slathered with Lane's White Hot sauce for an extra kick. Every bite delivers a burst of heat that is perfectly balanced by the creaminess of the cheese and sauce. The presentation is also impressive as the burger is served on a bed of lettuce with tomato slices. It's definitely not for the faint of heart but those who can handle some heat will thoroughly enjoy this tasty treat!
Ingredients
-
Lane’s White Hot Sauce
-
Nashville Hot Seasoning
-
1 lb 80/20 Ground Beef
-
2-3 red fresno chiles, diced
-
pepper jack or habanero cheddar cheese
-
candied jalapenos
-
1 large sweet onion, sliced
-
1 Tbls chili oil
Directions
Preheat grill to high heat(400°F +), and if you have the ability, setup direct and indirect heat zones.
In a cast iron skillet or saute pan, saute the onions in the chili oil until softened, bordering on fully caramelized. Set aside.
Mix the diced chiles into the ground beef, then form into 5-6oz patties. Season each patty with Nashville Hot seasoning to taste and let sit for 5-10 minutes for the rub to adhere.
Grill the patties over direct heat for 5-6 minutes per side. If you want those good grill marks, rotate the patty a quarter turn after the 3 minute mark.
Once the patties reach 140°F, move to the indirect side and top with the cheese and leave on for a couple minutes to let the cheese melt. Use this time the toast your buns while the grill is still hot.
Assemble the burger by slathering the bottom bun in White Hot sauce, put down lettuce and tomato first. Place your patty down next, then top with onions and jalapenos. A little more sauce on top then the top bun.
Enjoy and keep a napkin and cold drink close by!
Recipe Note
- If you don't have White Hot sauce, substitute with Sorta White and your favorite hot sauce.
- Use whatever chiles you like and have access to for mixing into the burger.
- This recipe also makes for a fantastic chicken sandwich, sub out the beef for a chicken breast or thigh and top with your peppers.
