The Double Decker Brunch Burger is the perfect balance of breakfast and lunch in one meal. It starts with two juicy beef patties stacked high between two golden brown waffles, loaded up with crispy bacon, melted cheese, and a fried egg cooked to perfection. To add a touch of sweetness, it's topped off with maple butter glaze and paired with a crispy hash brown patty. The result is an indulgent, yet satisfying burger that hits all the right taste buds. This meal is perfect for those lazy weekend mornings when you're craving something decadent but don't want to spend the day cooking.

Ingredients
-
Lane’s Brancho Rub
-
Lane’s Honey Sriracha Rub
80/20 ground chuck
thick cut bacon
eggs
shredded hash brown style potatoes
American cheese
frozen waffles, any brand
maple syrup
unsalted butter
corn starch
Directions
Preheat griddle or grill to medium high heat. If using a 2 or more burner griddle, set one side to medium-high and the other side to low.
Set a small sauce pot on the low side on the grill and add in butter and maple syrup to melt and combine. Add in 1-2 Tbls of Honey Sriracha rub or more to taste. Keep warm once sauce has thickened.
Brown 4-6 strips of bacon on the high side of the griddle, cook to your preferred doneness. We like about 5-6 minutes per side.
Form ground beef into 3-4 ounce balls and set aside. Add one egg and 2 Tbls of corn starch to one pound of shredded potato and mix thoroughly and form into patties the same size as the waffles.
Once the bacon is cooked, set aside and spread the bacon grease across the surface of the griddle. Start your hash brown patties off first on the hot side to brown and crisp up on each side, then slide over the low side of the griddle to finish cooking.
Add the waffles to the low side to heat up. Place the burger balls on the hot side. Season with Brancho rub and smash with a burger press or large spatula. Flip after 3 minutes and add cheese to each patty.
Crack one egg for each burger on the hot side of the griddle and fry until you preferred doneness. About 3-4 minutes gets you to a done egg white with a runny yolk.
Assemble each burger with one waffle on bottom, then a burger patty and bacon. Add some maple butter sauce on top, then add your hash brown patty, egg, and repeat with burger patty, bacon and sauce. Top with second waffle and enjoy!
Recipe Note
- For a full breakfast version, swap out ground beef for breakfast sausage.
- A splash of whiskey into the maple butter sauce is a great addition!
