Ingredients
-
Apple Pie Seasoning
-
4 medium sized apples(any variety, we used Fuji)
-
1 stick of butter, softened
-
½ cup light or dark brown sugar
-
½ cup chopped pecans
-
8 soft caramel chews
Directions
Preheat your grill/smoker/oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
Using a paring knife, first cut out the stem area and then use a small metal spoon to scoop out the core and seeds.
Place 2 soft caramel chews into each apple.
In a small bowl, mix together the butter, brown sugar, pecans, and 1 Tablespoon of Apple Pie Seasoning. Stuff mixture into the apples.
Place apples into small baking dish or disposable aluminum tray and bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until the apples are tender, but not mushy.
Remove apples from tray and baste with the remaining juices from the pan, then serve.
Recipe Note
- These are fantastic served with vanilla ice cream!
- Use your favorite apple. Fuji, Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Jonagold are all great choices.
- Top with extra caramel or whipped cream.
